Burt Young was born April 30, 1940 in Queens, New York. He is certainly best known for ground-breaking role as Paulie Pennino in the Rocky Film Series but he has appeared in numerous films including The Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight (1974), Convoy (1978), Mickey Blue Eyes (1999). Burt joined the Marines after he dropped out of school at the young age of 15. He certainly wore several different hats throughout the course of his life, including professional boxer which surely helped him understand the dynamics in the Rocky films! Burt is a true boxing aficionado and has appeared in 14 professional bouts and has never lost a fight! Young has also boxed with legend Muhammad Ali to raise money for a charity event; the two became good friends. Burt Young began his acting career taking dramatic arts training under legendary acting coach Lee Strasberg at the Actor’s Studio.  He first reached out to Strasberg in an attempt to impress a young girl that he really liked. Strasberg agreed to meet with Young after reading his letter, and invited him to take lessons.
