Sly is an actor, screenwriter, producer, and director and overall good guy! He is best known for his Hollywood action roles, and definitely BEST KNOWN for his break through role as boxer Rocky Balboa, the title character of the Rocky film series'...Seven amazing movies from 1976 to 2015. Though, he also became a huge success with the introduction of soldier John Rambo from the four Rambo films, which ran from 1982-2008...and, oh yeah, let's not forget to mention Barney Ross in the Expendables films from 2010 to 2014. Sly wrote or co-wrote most of the 14 films in all three of these amazing franchises, and directed many of the films as well!
Sly has been involved with the big screen since his early life and his overall grit and determination were really the key factors to his early success with the original installment of Rocky in 1976.... While he was in Switzerland, Stallone started down his new path towards a career in cinema and never looked back! He had a minor role as a man eating in a diner in the sports drama, Downhill Racer; however he was not credited for this appearance. Stallone had his first starring role in The Party at Kitty and Stud's, better known under the alternative title Italian Stallion. O boy...ladies, I know you remember this one! And if you haven't seen it...maybe you should! It is a 1970 American "softcore" adult film and Sly only worked two days and was paid a whopping $200! But, hey, when you are starting out in the 1970s that's a great pay-day right?? In 1976, shortly after the release of ROCKY, the film was edited and re-released under the title Italian Stallion to capitalize on the "now famous" Italian Stallone! Oh marketing!
